Overview

United Neuroscience Institute is a neurology practice in Bakersfield. I manage and optimize its website: writing and structuring service pages, provider pages and department pages so a patient can find the one thing they came for without reading a brochure.

The guiding rule is simple — the site is an information dispenser, not a marketing pamphlet. Someone landing on an epilepsy page wants to know what the condition is, who treats it here, and how to book. Everything else is in the way.

Alongside the content work, the site gets ongoing on-page SEO and local search attention: titles, meta descriptions, slugs, focus keywords, image alt text, FAQ sections, and the Google Business Profile that decides whether the practice shows up in the local map pack at all.

The site ran on WordPress until August 2026, when it was rebuilt as a static build and cut over to the live domain — same content, structured data and analytics carried across, none of the plugin surface.

What mattered

Pages organized by intent

Service, provider and department pages are structured around the question the patient arrived with, not around the org chart.

Local search is the whole game

Bakersfield neurology is a competitive local market. Map-pack visibility, profile accuracy and review capture move more patients than any hero image.

Measured, then adjusted

Regular SEO audits against local competitors keep the priorities honest — what is actually ranking, what is slipping, what to fix next.
